Sports Leaders play a vital role in Irish

involvement in children’s sport must be
recognised.

Adults who take responsibility for children
in sport have a duty to ensure that they are
competent to provide safe and rewarding

Children have a lot to gain from sport.

Leaders in children’s sport should strive to

children in their care. They have overall

are provided.
Sports leaders should:

- Be positive, enthusiastic and cheerful;
- Reinforce the principles of fair play;
- Give feedback in a constructive and
encouraging manner;
