u8 Blue
League
1/5/08
Coonagh 2 – 3 Granville
Killian
Markham
x 2 Morgan Clancy.
Our u8s
continued their
winning streak win this hard earned win over a very
strong Coonagh side. Granville eventually won by the
odd goal in five as Killian Markham scored a brace
to level the game at 2-2 going into the final few
minutes. It looked as if a share of the spoils would
be the outcome but in the last minute of the game
Granville won a free from 20 yards out. Morgan
Clancy who has scored in every match stepped up and
hit a cracker into net to give Granville the win.

Granville 9 – 2 Mungret
Our u8s were rampant as they win their third game in succession. This week they were
home to Mungret and by half time were leading by a
five nil score line. Killian Markham and Craig
O’Neill with two apiece and Morgan Clancy who
smashed home from close range were all on the score
sheet. On the resumption Granville eased off the
pressure this allowed Mungret to get their feet and
eventually put two apart the post.. However their
come back was only temporarily as the home side
again upped the tempo with some great passing from
Ben Kirkland opened up the play. Killian and Craig
were in element as they hit one more apiece to score
a hatrick on the night. With time still left Alex
Kiely hit a daisy cutter into the bottom corner and
Even Arnold hit a beauty after leaving the keeper
stranded.
10/4/08
Granville 3 – 2 Geraldines
Our under 8's kicked
off their season on Thursday night last with a great
3-2 win over Geraldines in Glenbrook. This was a
great performance from our lads considering we had
lost 3 times to them last season in the league and
friendlies. The Dines took an early lead against the
run of play but we soon equalised when Killian
Markham hit home a great goal from 20 yards. Both
teams created plenty of chances in a very open game
but there were no further goals at half time. On the
resumption, the dines took an early lead but we then
took command and started to create plenty of
chances. The pressure finally paid off when we got a
deserved equaliser with 10 mins to go - Ian Reeves
hammering home from 10 yards. We continued to press
for the winner and rewarded with 2 mins to go when
Morgan Clancy flicked home from inside the box. A
great start to the season from the boys and already
looking forward to another local derby against Pike
next Thursday night.
Team lined out as follows:
Ben Kirkland, Jac Gorey, Garrett Moore, John
O'Byrne, Killian Markham, Ian Reeves,
Craig O'Neill, Morgan Clancy & Evan arnold.
